Don’t be selfish . . .
When I was in high school I turned down almost every chance to travel. The Adventist private school I attended had a choir and band that traveled intermittently overseas. I was in both but I timed it so that I was int he off years.
The school sent students through student exchange programs, mission trips and random opportunities. Like many teens who thought they knew best, I didn’t want to see the world with the restrictions that my school would undoubtedly have in place.
I regret my youthful arrogance.
I have since been blessed to have had a few grand adventures. All at my own expense and with the limitations of winging it instead of having those with the know provide the itinerary for me.
