Don’t be selfish . . .
My road trip began in April 2008. I had been living with my Great Aunt (who is 96 and an amazing women) in Riverside, CA. My boyfriend (later to become my husband 
Was in CA for work and I had gone out there to spend more time with him. I accepted an internship in WA and it was time to drive all that I could cram in my car up to my new place. I took the scenic route.
Beginning in Southern CA and winding my way to WA.
Monterrey Bay was amazing! I have been lucky enough to spend time there on 3 separate occasions. This road trip was the most recent. I stopped to stay the night with my cousin and spent a lovely day with them.
Now, from Monterrey all the way up to the redwood forest, I don’t know the order that I saw stuff. So, I will just post all those pictures and hope they are in order.
I camped on the beach in Redwoods National Forest. It was really fun. I woke in the morning to a lady Elk right outside me tent with the dilemma of needing to pee – desperately. I have heard that Elk can be mean and are known to charge. So I sneaked out and walked way around the critter and waited for her to leave before returning to pack up the tent.
I stopped outside Portland Oregon and stayed with some friends from high school. My good friend Angie joined me for the rest of the trip up to Seattle.
David – Boyfriend at the time, husband now – met us in Seattle. Angie took the fast track back to Portland and my adventure lasted the rest of the weekend on the Olympic Peninsula.
One of the best roads in my life!
